Deep Democracy Workshop

8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

DD2: Wednesday, November 18, 2009 –
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Based on the Deep Democracy White & Yellow Belt training offered in May 2008, we offer you a hands-on workshop that allows you to practice Deep Democracy. Do something revolutionary for your organization and register today!

The biggest challenge facing organizations today is a lack of genuine buy-in necessary to move forward. Decisions are often made from the top-down with little voice from those who will eventually have to implement them. Conflict ensues and so do seemingly impossible-to-solve issues.

Deep Democracy is a revolutionary conflict resolution and team building method born out of the post-apartheid era in South Africa and now being used in the UK, US, Canada, Russia, India, Ireland, Denmark, Zimbabwe and Israel. Widely used in the health care sectors in Ontario and Nova Scotia, this workshop offers an advanced toolkit for leaders, managers or anyone who wants to enhance team effectiveness and facilitate decisions necessary to innovate, transform and change.

In this workshop, participants will discover how to:

  • Join the thousands of people worldwide who have used Deep Democracy to create real and sustained change in their organizations.
  • Achieve breakthroughs in groups on impossible-to-solve issues and impasses.
  • Ensure you and others are treated with respect and that your and their wisdom is facilitated and incorporated
  • Build a shared vision through ensuring that all views are genuinely included and that true support is obtained.

The tools that all participants will practice and walk away with include:

  • An understanding of where you and others are on the Saboteur Line.
  • Four simple steps that help managers and team members to facilitate greater commitment from all members of their team.
  • The formula to run a different kind of check-in with your team.
  • A fun exercise called the Soft Shoe Shuffle for use within your organization.
